I'm in love with the middle cake. I think I want something like it, but with shallower layers. Or at least more equal layers. Now, any suggestions for flavors??

A Bridesmaid in Navy

I ended up with navy bridesmaid dresses. I went searching and loved this one, and thankfully so did both of my bridesmaids!

A Cage for the Veil

I had a hard time when considering veils. The one other thing that says "bride" other than the dress is the veil. When you're little girl, you don't even need a dress... just get veil and viola! you're a bride.
I never loved veils so much, but when faced with the option, I began to think... it's the one time you can get away with that, so maybe I should consider it. I looked and looked and just couldn't find anything too interesting. I didn't want a long one because I wanted the back of the dress to show and the short ones I didn't like. I was stuck. Well, until I found birdcage veils and fell in love.
So, that's the story, and here are some pictures to give you an idea. It's kind of retro and definitely not so traditional, but I think it's totally me.

Inspriration from other Blogs

My color palette is navy and green. So, when I'm bored (probably when I'm staying up too late for my own good), I begin to browse blogs for inspiration.

The Dress

For those of you who don't know, I bought my dress last year on eBay. I saw it and loved it. The auction ended and I was so sad, so I decided to e-mail the seller and guess what? She had another in my size. They were clearing out dresses from a couple of seasons ago in a bridal store. Just my luck!
So here it is, my eBay prize.

The Church

We're officially in! I've loved the Vondelkerk (Vondel church) since I first saw it. While the Dutch seem to think it's typical, for me (the little girl from the good 'ol U.S.A.) it's fabulous and "fairytale-ish."

Flatware

I got some flatware while I was back in America in May. My grandparents wanted to give us a gift that would last a lifetime so flatware is what they chose. :) We went shopping and I found something fabulous. 18/10 Lenox! Almost couldn't get better right? Well, the price couldn't get better either, so I'm very pleased.
So, we are now the proud owners of a 12 place setting of "Portola" stainless.
